Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Around, operated by Dusty van Steekelenburg. By using Around you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. Around is currently available in the Netherlands, for people aged 16 and older.

1. Your account

You sign in with your mobile phone number and a one-time code. You may create one account, must give accurate information, and are responsible for keeping your account secure and for everything done under it.

2. What Around is

Around helps you coordinate. A match is only information: it means you could hang, not that anyone has agreed to meet. Joining a Hang is your own choice. We do not guarantee that you will match with anyone, that anyone will join, or that any Hang will take place.

3. Meeting people in real life

We do not verify the identity, background, or conduct of users, and you meet other people at your own risk. Use common sense: meet in public, tell someone where you are going, and leave any situation that feels unsafe. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for the conduct of any user or for your interactions with them, whether online or in person.

4. Rules of use

You agree not to use Around to break the law, harass or harm anyone, impersonate others, post harmful content, scrape data or use bots, or share other people's private information. Only use contact-matching with contacts you are allowed to share. We may remove content and suspend or ban accounts that break these rules or put the community at risk.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of what you create (your name, photo, messages, and Hang details). You give us a limited licence to host and display it as needed to run the Service. You are responsible for what you share and confirm you have the right to share it.

6. Early-access software

Around is early-access ("alpha") software. It may contain bugs, change, lose data, or be unavailable. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind.

7. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or loss caused by other users or by your interactions with them. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, and your mandatory rights as a consumer remain unaffected.

8. Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time in the App. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we stop offering the Service. Sections 3, 6, and 7 continue to apply afterwards.

9. Governing law

Dutch law applies to these terms. Your mandatory consumer-law rights in your country of residence remain unaffected.
